2021-04-14 · The film keeps Mank on a pedestal, like those famous upward-angle camera shots from Citizen Kane that allow Kane to tower over us. I found Mank ’s unmitigated adoration of its title character Även om Mank hyser vördnad för Welles färdiga film - inte minst visuellt - råder inga illusioner om att En sensation var ett enmansjobb. Eller att den briljante Orson var särskilt lätt att handskas med (i Mank tacksamt parodiskt porträtterad av Tom Burke). Även om jag tror att "Mank" inte kommer att gå hem hos alla så är detta definitivt David Finchers bästa film sedan "Zodiac" om inte någonsin. Detta är en mästerligt gjord film på alla plan och den ger oss en intressant och djupdykande historia om en man som är mer en parentes i filmhistorien än någon som vi alla borde känna till. David Finchers Mank berättar om hur manusförfattaren Herman J. Mankievicz skrev Citizen Kane, ett av filmhistoriens stora mästerverk. På många sätt är filmen lysande och handlingen är som gjuten för alla cineaster där ute.
